HAS collaborates as Technical Services Partner for Sarawak’s offshore helicopter services

Kuching, 15 June 2023 – HAS International Sdn. Bhd. (“HAS”) signed as the Technical Services Partner for offshore helicopter services for the oil and gas sector in Sarawak at a ceremony held earlier today, as witnessed by The Right Honourable Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Haji Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Datuk Abang Haji Openg, Premier of Sarawak.

This exclusive partnership with Hornbill Skyways Sdn. Bhd. (“Hornbill”), who is the contract holder of the Provision of Offshore Helicopter Services for Sarawak Operations, is a significant milestone to the company and a testament to the company’s strategy to be value-led and safety-focused in its services.

As Technical Services Partner on offshore helicopter services for the Sarawak oil and gas sector, HAS will be operating out of its Miri base which stations three units of Airbus H175 aircrafts as well as an expansive pool of well-trained pilots and licensed aircraft engineers. Under this contract, the company will be responsible for safe transportation for crew change and medical evacuations, rigorous aircraft maintenance and seamless operational support.

Upon receiving the appointment certificate, Hasery Bakar adds that HAS is honoured to be given the trust by Hornbill and and all the Petroleum Arrangement Contractors comprising Petronas Carigali Sdn. Bhd., Sarawak Shell Berhad, SapuraOMV Upstream (Sarawak) Inc, JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration (Malaysia) Ltd, Mubadala Energy Oil & Gas (SK 320) Ltd, and PTTEP Sarawak Oil Ltd.

HAS awarded as First Airbus H175 Service Provider for Malaysia’s oil and gas sector

Langkawi, 23 May 2023 – HAS International Sdn. Bhd. (“HAS”) was awarded recognition by Airbus Helicopter Malaysia (“AHM”) for its successful entry as the first H175 offshore helicopter service provider to the Malaysian oil and gas (O&G) sector.

This recognition was conferred to HAS following the arrival of its new fleet of H175 aircrafts at its base in Miri, from where the company operates to serve major oil and gas clients in Sarawak since 1 April 2023. Flying the H175 also marks the company as the pioneer service provider to operate an aircraft in its premier class for the oil and gas sector in the South Asian region.

HAS’s Managing Director, Hasery Bakar received the award on behalf of the company at AHM’s event held in conjunction with Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition 2023, which was officiated by Prime Minister of Malaysia YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim earlier on the same day.

Today’s recognition indeed reflects a new beginning for Malaysia’s O&G services as we strive to uphold a high quality of service and safety standards for the industry,” said Hasery, who is also a co-founder of HAS since 2012.

This significant milestone, according to him, is attributed to the company’s collective commitment and value to leveraging on advanced technologies for greater safety margins.

Hasery elaborated that, “When we expanded our operations from Labuan to Miri last year, the H175 was an obvious choice for us, not just for its sheer size and capacity, but more importantly, we were drawn to its safety-intuitive capabilities. After all, safety is our business and every flight is a mission to transport our client personnel safely and securely.”
